Working on my vertical jump

Vertical jump is achieved by having good leg strength combined with the ability to transform this strength into power in explosive movements. You increase your vertical jump in several ways. One is to gain strength by doing some heavy leg exercises. Another is to gain speed by plyometric training. I like to combine these by doing  some workouts with heavy weights, some workouts with lighter weights and explosive lifts, like my olympic workouts, and some workouts with pure jumping drills. Here is a short sample from my latest jumping workout. In this video I finish of with 8 Reebok steps. I challenge you to do the same thing, and comment here with a link to your video! Go have fun!

  6. Takk :) Vi har sikkert mye å gå på begge to. Jeg for min del har nok spensten som et resultat av mye trening på maks-styrke. Har ikke trent mye spesifikt på spenst, men det hadde vært gøy hvis 9 kasser gikk!

    Skal prøve å få med meg noen andre PTer på elixia kolbotn på utfordringen!

  8. Bra spenst på deg Martin!! Men for å være litt pirkete så er det litt for langt tilløp. Tilløpet skal bare være ett skritt eller to :-) Men så lenge du har spenst nok så kommer det veldig raskt. Er bare snakk om teknikk og utnyttelse av styrken.

  9. Aha! Det kan helt sikkert gjøre litt forskjell, ja. Jeg tenkte jeg skulle teste helt stillestående også, uten ett eneste skritt. Og i tillegg fra sittende posisjon.

  12. Kjenner til deFranco ja. En av kolegaene mine er fan! Beinhard trening da! Prøver å hente litt derfra, men vet ikke hvor vi skal ha en prowler på sjølyst ;-)

  13. Hehe, prowler er ikke lett å få plass til hos oss på kolbotn heller.

    Har testet litt crossfit/ghetto-workouts på en skole i nærheten med en kollega. Det er mange som har sett klippet og er interessert i å være med på det nå til våren.

    Vi har skaffet traktordekk på 300 kg og litt av hvert utstyr så nå blir det kule PT-bootcamper fremover!
